Not that I don't believe you...but how are you certain that an explosion didn't occur within the White Sands Missile Range? It happened in an area that very few personnel are allowed in. Plus, you know as well as myself that the White Sands Missile Range covers an extremely large area of land. 

Serious question: Are you privy to all information related to testing that occurs within the White Sands Missile Range?

You don't have to be privy to much to know if a large explosion occurred. To create such a large plume would need a very large explosion. The White sands, Holloman and Alamogordo area are in the middle bowl/valley. That being said the sound would be heard for miles.

But to add to the "conspiracy", I asked a friend who works at the weather squadron. They're aware of the sudden dust storm and say it is suspected to have been caused by a microburst.
