The "problem" is the sensationalism surrounding .22lr ammo that leads people to rush to buy out stores every time they stock up.

Unfortunately that's the current climate and will continue to be for the near future. Someone posted something here awhile back that I'll paraphrase now "The luxury of having a retailer be your ammo repository is over (at least for the time being). Because of this, each individual is now responsible for his own inventory". Also, I now have a .22 conversion kit that won't run the one brand that I have the majority of in my stash. I'm out looking with everyone else these days. Had a friend notify me this morning that a local Wal-Mart had 20 bricks. I called 50 minutes later and they had been gone for 20 minutes.

Exactly, I wish I would have bought 50 cases of Remington Nitro Steel in 1995 when it was $110/case.

I didn't. As far as .22 and .223 I was smart enough to be overly paranoid the first time Obama got elected. Look at me now, enjoying the spoils... living the good life. And yes, everytime I come across more .22, I buy it. You have to if you plan on getting high on your own supply.
