The Medal of Honor is a participation trophy now

Obama currently giving them to "overlooked veterans" who apparently didn't get Medals of Honor because they were members of established victim classes.

The Congressional Medal of Honor Society was a client of mine. I'd point out the numerous minority MOH recipients, but seeing as how the President currently giving them away got a Nobel Prize for being black, I'm sure it would fall on deaf ears.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is moving to right old wrongs by belatedly awarding the Medal of Honor to 24 Army veterans who served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Just three of those being honored during Tuesday's ceremony at the White House are still alive, all of them combat veterans of Vietnam.
The honors are being awarded after Congress ordered a review to determine whether service members of Jewish or Hispanic heritage or others had been wrongly denied the Medal of Honor due to prejudice. All of those being honored had previously been awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, the nation's second-highest military award.
Overall, eight of the 24 fought in Vietnam, nine in Korea and seven in World War II.

Actually No it isn't
I just saw on the news there is only around 75 living recipients compared to when it was around 500.
Unless you served I really don't think you have room to say shite about this.

"Well, this guy's black, so I'll put him in for a Distinguished Service Cross instead of the MOH."
Yeah. I'm sure that was the thought process of many a CO back in the day.

One of the first to be fixed should be Richard Winters

Awards are very political. I just found out a fellow soldier of mine was awarded a silver star for an IED that blew up on his Bradley killing 3 soldiers in the back. I did the investigation into the incident. His squad leaders were the ones that managed the situation as he was in a half conscious state. Some how he was given the credit for setting up the defense and preventing further loss of life in the second wave of sporadic attack by direct and indirect fire.
Counter that with another soldier that rushed into a burning Bradley under direct fire multiple times to save 3 soldiers and him being awarded a silver star posthumously. I can't see how each of their actions warrants the same award. All I can think is the first is the son of a general that's going places and the second wasn't. Both are great soldiers so don't take this the wrong way. I just don't understand the way the army chose to award them similarly from significantly greater sacrifices and heroism at a specific event.

have you gone through all their records and decided they were unworthy?

The only problem I have with this is why did they not go back and look at EVERYBODY who was possibly looked over for a Medal of Honor?
If it is true that Blacks, Hispanics, and Jews were looked over during that time, then they would NATURALLY be found in much higher numbers than Whites.
They should be looking through everybody. Not just minorities.

Some of these are legitimate issues where, because of race the medals awarded were downgraded.

This really pizzes me off. I know many don't understand what the CMH means... Making affirmative action recipients cheapens something hat should never be cheapened.

Are you under the impression that racism inside the US Army was not savage back in the day?

But not special forces who lay their arse on the line with nothing but a thank you to show for it most times, or maybe a handshake in a tent somewhere that no brass band or person will visit?
Yeah, go away Obama, you and your mistreated victimhood shite. You and your agendas make me sick.
It's not that they do or don't deserve it. It's that people only chose to investigate this BASED ON RACE rather than all service members who may have been overlooked for one reason or another, be that prejudice, politics, or just overlooked period.

I can agree that this is racial grandstand and there was no need for this, but you should change your title considering what the experiences of the new recipients. It demeans their sacrifices...I don't think they just "participated".
