The EU will have no bearing whatsoever. They've said this. It won't really be even taken into account.

Okay. I haven't really followed this. All I've read thus far was Adam Driver would be in it. I think they're making the right move by going forward in time, but probably not far enough. Luke and Leia would still more than likely be very prominent figures 30 years after RotJ.
