LSU Graduate School of Banking?

Has anybody on here attended this institution? A banker in my deal team did as well as U of Florida's grad school of banking. Evidently you only go down to the city which it is based out of for a few weeks and the rest is done from a distance as in his case he lives in Charlotte and previously in FL and SC. Just curious how legitimate these grad school of banking degrees are as they are not MBAs or really Masters degrees. I cannot ask him as his opinion would clearly be skewed in favor of the two and would not be objective.

SMU has a good program, too, I think.

How long of a program is this LSU Graduate School of Banking including the distance learning part? Also how much does it cost?

I think it's useful for someone who went into banking from a different academic background. If you have a Finance degree or similar, you probably won't learn anything you don't already know, and if you have an MBA or MS you def. won't learn anything you don't already know. But it's another box to check off on the resume. Not saying it's of no value, but they do tend to oversell what it is they're offering,
Andd IMNSHO, the name is misleading. It's on the LSU campus and taught by LSU professors, but it's not an Academic program. It's run by the Bankers Association and you don't get an academic degree from attending. I assume, but don't know for a fact, that the other graduate schools of banking are like this. If a postgraduate degree is what you're looking for, get into a regular grad school.
