I haven't been paying attention to the board, But has it been stated that We started 2 inexperienced left handers against a right hand dominated lineup. Good right handed pitching beats vandy. Unless you have a lefty with swing and miss stuff he's going to have a long day with vandy. Bottom line is I'll take 1/3 in whatever way we can get it on the road against a team like vandy. We will be fine. Vandy on the road was a tough series start out sec play.

Vandy was better than LSU this weekend. It's baseball & it's early in the season. It's a marathon, not a sprint. One of my favorite quotes: "sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, & sometimes it rains." Just enjoy the show fans!

It is not easy to sweep a DH, but, Vandy did it, so, it was really their day.

Vandy looked better as a team. I think we had the two best hitters but they had more of them. Our pitching after Nola takes a big dive. Bouman got it together after the first inning but there really wasn't anything special about him. Average fastball and curve with mediocre placement. As a lefty you can usually get away with an average fastball if your curve or slider is special and you have great control but he doesn't. Our hitting is suspect aside from two or three players. I know Vandy has a great pitching staff but we've struggled to hit in other games with mediocre pitching. We also need to learn how to get a bunt down. The bats are shitty now so small ball will rule. I really hate they did that. I mean why make college baseball boring like the pros.

Headline read Vandy takes two from Tigers. Should have read Vandy takes two from Tigers and gives one away. LSU didn't win Vandy lost.

Vandy was the better team but I assumed that going into this series. LSU just has a bit more weaknesses in its game than vandy at this point. But vandy is also one of if not the best team in the country so I'm not about to act like we suck now just cause we lost a series at their place like some on this board are implying. Bouman andPoche will get better with experience as will the hitting now that you're facing quality arms and not the likes of Purdue and Yale. Is this the best LSU team ever? Not at all but its still an above average team that can do some good things this season.

And what I mean by the hitting getting better now that you're facing quality pitching is that the better pitchers you face makes it easier to hit the next ones you face and so on. Repetition against quality pitching makes you a better hitter. To this point LSU hadn't seen anything like these pitcher's vandy had. But now it'll help having seen them cause other teams pitching won't seem as difficult to hit.
