I thought the pick was top 5 protected?

It is, but there's practically no chance of us finishing bottom 5 which means the only way to keep the pick is win a top 3 spot in the lottery. But I don't think I really mentioned our pick. I did mention the Lakers and top 3 in the context of they've expressed interest in trading for Love and would probably prefer Love to a potential star that's too young to fit in Kobe's window.
