Spin Off: If minimum wage goes up will you tip less than 20%? ( if you do now)

restaurant workers make $7.25 an hour today.
Dept of Labor minimum wage language
If minimum wage went into the $10 range would you still tip 20%?
anyone who says tipped employees only make $2.13 needs to click the link and become educated.

I tip based off performance. If it's ok I tip 20%. If it's really good I'll go 30+ but if it's shitty I won't tip at all no matter how big the bill is

depends on the place. outback.. no. ruth's.. yes

A lot of waiters or waitresses make like 2.10 an hour plus tips. Not minimum wage. The cooks and other staff make minimum and sometimes take a cut of the tips. This may be different in some very high end establishments.
As a customer, makes no difference to me. I tip around 20 percent depending on the quality of the food and the service. However, I do not tip if either suck.

My tips will go drastically decrease because my expenses will go up across the board without an increase in my revenue resulting in less expendable income in my monthly budget.

So the people who say they make 2.13 plus tips are lying?

Yep. It's a tip and a reward for good service. I use the same tipping protocol you do.
This automatic tipping, it's for the birds.

Im interested to see the outcome a higher minimum wage has on tipping. A higher minimum wage means only higher skilled workers will be hired, meaning the quality of our service at restaurants should be expected to increase, resulting in higher tips. However, a higher minimum wage could also result in price increases at cheaper restaurants causing some people to tip less. Interesting.

Waiters never made that 2.15 people prayed you'd believe. Either they were too dumb to know it, or they assumed the people they told were.
Fwiw, I always tip 20% and probably always will. It's just easier.

It also means the raw cost to get the meal to your table rises across the board. The guy at the slaughter house killing the cows goes up while the cost to transport the dead cow to the butcher shop roses while the butcher's cost roses while the meat packer's cost rises while the trucking company in charge of delivering the processed beef to the restaurant rises while the price of the uncooked steak roses while the cost of the cooked steak rises while the waiter makes more money while the middle class tax paying American citizen is fricked to tears just to help the poor bastards that didn't pay attention in school and get their education for good paying jobs.
Change we can believe in.

I guess you are one of those dumbasses who thinks that rule in the link is ever enforced, requiring the owner to make sure 2.13 per hour plus tips equals the min wage. Lulz
