You can't negate it, just hope that you're out of range. There's a reason why you see most people in the nude while fighting it; besides cloranthy ring and ring of blades, it doesn't matter what you wear or have on. It's extremely unfair. I've beaten it once but will never attempt it again. You're meant to fail.

Haven't played this in a while. Finally have some time to sit down and play again. Anyone still on play through 1 that wants to team up?
