Even if I'm a naked hollow? I just need to negate his pillar of flame. I think I can handle his stomp dance.

You can't negate it, just hope that you're out of range. There's a reason why you see most people in the nude while fighting it; besides cloranthy ring and ring of blades, it doesn't matter what you wear or have on. It's extremely unfair. I've beaten it once but will never attempt it again. You're meant to fail.
