By drastic I meant concerned about your identity being revealed to putting it out there. Your explanation makes sense though. A lot of those connection requests may be spam connected to viruses. I have seen a lot more lately. Also newbs who sign up let it search their email address book to send out invites, so even random people you have emailed with before will send you invites.

But once I realized you-know-who knew who I am and was using my personal information as a blackmail attempt, then I didn't GAF anymore.
