Exactly. It's great to see this honestly because it sounds like Payton realizes exactly what needs to be done. This team was really just being more consistent on offense away from playing in at least the NFC chanpionship

I think we'll eventually see the shift to a more run-based, play-action offense. Why? Because it would mean we keep Brees longer.

3-4 years from now, Brees won't have the arm he once had, and we won't be able to keep going wide open. When that happens, you roll the dice... either you get another QB and hope he's somewhere near as good as Brees WAS, or you change the offense to fit what Brees can still do.

Just my opinion, but I think Drew could still win a Super Bowl at age 40, if he's in the "crafty field general" mode (like Elway was near the end, when he got 2 championships).
