I have a question if i cancel cable? i will buy an apple tv or roku and an HDTV antenna. Will I still be able to watch shows from A&E, history, discovery, etc.?

A&E and History channel have apps on Roku but you'll need somebody else's cable provider login to be able to watch anything on them.

All of those are available as roku channels. If you want them bundled nicely in one place, get a subscription to hulu plus. As far as movies go, there are several free channels like crackle or you can subscribe to either netflix or amazon prime. I like amazon prime because of the free two-day shipping but it also includes access to a huge library of movies.
