Very similar to what I said in the other thread. They would have to have a north east/west and a south east/west divisions for the lower leagues to keep them from traveling all across America. Maybe have a playoff between the 3 and 4 teams of the 4

there would need to be probably 4 regions:
EAST/WEST/SOUTH/NORTH:
1a vs 2b
2a vs 1b
3a vs 4b
4a vs 3b
2-legged ties. Re-seed after the quarterfinal. The winner of the playoff replaces the last place team in the MLS. The runner-up faces the 2nd to last place team in a 2-legged tie.
