It sounds like we'd be in WW3 if the poliboard were running the country.
The only people getting played by Putin are the ones praising him and demanding "tough action" in an effort to help their own political party.
Short game, I get. Putin wins either way. If America shows force then he can use it to rally anti-America sentiment in Russia and get better support towards empire building. If America stays low key then Republicans bash Obama and Putin gets good publicity.
Long game: Who knows. It seems like the wrong direction for Russia and Eastern Europe.
