I don't think it is nearly "all", brother.

Meh. Probably not caliber specific - 6.8 could be an assault rifle. 4.7mm caseless could be an assault rifle, but I'll agree that it needs to be cartidges in this class.

I think, more importantly, it was a cross between a machine pistol/SMG and a rifle - and that was the role - to combine the two - a package that gave you somewhat of the longer range of a rifle, with the rapid reloading/rapid fire of the machine pistol.

Exactly - precisely (okay, actually it is "sturmgeweher", but that's a tough word to spell correctly if you don't do it very often) - it is not often I agree with Tigah in the ATL, but when I do, it is usually emphatic agreement.

Spot on, again.

In any event, the U.S. press either deliberately misleads or doesn't understand this. The U.S. gun control movement either deliberately misleads or doesn't understand this. The Democratic caucus in both houses either deliberately misleads or doesn't understand this. Voters in many, many states do not understand this.

That's the only thing I disagree with you on - the "We all know" part.

Yes, "we all" that are knowledgeable about firearms, but not the collective "We all" not even everyone on the poliboard.
