I'm a firm Christian, but wouldn't this be an off handed way of State sponsored religion? As a libertarian I don't think a Government should show favoritism of a specific religion

I am as sympathetic as anyone to state facilitation of religion, but this crosses the line from facilitation to outright support for a specific religious doctrine. I can't imagine that this will pass constitutional muster.
