Sunday, catch the street car out to City Park.

Start with coffee and beignets at morning call. Then let him climb the oak trees and hit up the play ground.
Rent pattle boats or the multi person bikes.
Then 18 holes of mini golf.
Finish with 3 or 4 hours at the little mini amusement park.

I live 5 miles from there and my kids never get tired of that kind of stuff.

there are enough suggestions here to fill up a lot more time than you have to spend...this will be a trip to remember for the both of you...

So you be getting here at 4 on Saturday and heading back home on Monday? You only going to be here Saturday night, all day Sunday and Monday morning?

If so you may need all day Sunday and Monday morning just to see the WW2 museum. If your son is into history there is the Civil War Museum almost across the street.

A new park opened up this past week that sits on the river just south of the French quarter. I haven't been yet, but heard it is nice and has some cool views. The link to the parks website is: [link=(www.reinventingthecrescent.org)]LINK[/link]
