Abother alternative route if the interstate is backed up to Williams:
Get off at Williams exit and go all the way to Jefferson (to the river). Take Jefferson all the way down (it will turn into Claiborne) until you hit Poydras. Take Poydras down to your hotel. Then throw your bags in the lobby and buy the largest drink at the hotel bar.

What about airline from Kenner to downtown as opposed to Jefferson? You think that will be backed up?
