Who should have played Anakin?

I actually heard a few weeks ago on a podcast that Misha Collins from Supernatural was one of the final choices for the role.



He said he went to Skywalker Ranch and had the big sit down with everyone and had to agree to keep it quiet until they cast someone. Would have been better that Hayden.

Dialog was the problem not the acting. The writing was god awful for Anakin.

wouldn't have mattered given the shitty dialogue and story. episode 1 should never have been made. Episode 2 should have been episode 1 and the 3rd one should have been broken into two movies to allow for a slower transition to the dark side. monumental fail that no actor could have saved.

I've always felt in the minority about thinking Hayden made a good Anakin, especially in Episode 3.

Despite the awful dialogue, I thought he acted out Anakin's internal struggles before switching to the Dark Side very well. He has a good evil look that comes to him when he helps Palpatine kill Mace Windu, which was a pretty convincing scene for me. I'll say I was unsure about him up until that point.

But the whole, "Don't make me kill you!" and "You underestimate my power!" lines were just awful. No one could have pulled those off without looking ridiculous.
