The following is my opinion only:

I had heard that Grimes liked smaller, quicker offensive lineman, but I have seen no evidence of that so far.

Based on who he has targeted so far at LSU, it looks to me like he is going for prototypical body types for his line.

Just look at our first three OL commits:

Teuhema, 6-5, 335, projects at RT (I believe)
Shipley, 6-5, 260, projects at LT (frame to add weight)
Magee, 6-4, 320, projects at OG

The offer list backs this up too. The three top prospects at guard and tackle are prototypical and certainly not undersized.

Richmond is a LT with NFL potential and the top guy left in my book, followed by Tillery.

I can't really answer your question on philosophy, but based on the offers that are out, we are building a typical NFL style OL.
