BTW...the focus on Elizabeth eating the bacon was fricking hilarious.

I thought they were going to show Phillip take a bite of pie after the bacon part

So is this show really good?

I was pretty psyched after the pilot. Looked awesome. 5 episodes later I lost interest and stopped watching.

Now I'm looking up the reviews on metacritic and it is supposed to be one of the better shows on TV.

It's a solid tv show but it doesn't hold a candle to the top shows on HBO or AMC, but not much does.

Top shows on HBO and AMC are legendary though. But to their credit, FX is edging closer to AMC than network/rest of cable. It beats anything on a network, for sure.

It is an interesting conundrum. The main characters are sympathetic in many ways, and yet are playing the sworn enemies of the USA at the height of the Cold War.

Very good episode. Pretty much direct f/u to season opener and resulting fallout.

Another good episode. Not quite as intense as the first, but that's the be expected. It's interesting how in Season 1, Elizabeth was the more cold and ruthless one and now she's the one paranoid and constantly looking over her shoulder.

Elizabeth is changing. She is a lot more paranoid and worried about the effect their secret life will have on her kids. After season 1, I thought it would be Phillip that might eventually flip. I am starting to think it might be Elizabeth.

I want to see what the final end game is going to be for Phillip and his FBI secretary "wife". I just don't see how this stays a secret forever, or she doesn't get suspicious. I think it will be hard for him to take her out.

Oh, I don't think so. He's probably looking forward to being able to dispatch her.

This.

Also, Am I wrong or was it implied that the KGB are going to kill the surviving son of their dead agents? Philip said he would be taken care of and Elizabeth just repeated the statement and they looked at each other in silence.

Yes. These people care about their kids and you couldn't get them to do what they do if taking care of meant killing.

I think they may have implied that it could be a possibility. I think Elizabeth is truly shaken by everything, and she doesn't know what they mean. I'm sure they were always told that if something happened to you, your family would be taken care of. That was it, no specifics.

I took that scene as she honestly doesn't know what would happen.

Same here. That kid is pretty much at the mercy of the Soviets right now.
