Gravity really is a monumental achievement. It bridged gaps, was a unique experience and was simply amazing. WoWS was just a great "American film." Not sure which way I go on this. Heck I even want to vote for Her.

Cuaron should walk away with Director, no matter what. There was no better representation of singular vision on film than Gravity. Maybe not even in the last 20 years. It would be criminal for him not to win.

In terms of the acting Oscars. MM, should win actor no doubt. Best Actress and Supporting Actress are just ugh...probably because I haven't seen Blue Jasmine. So I'll go with the predictions on this and assume Blanchett is better than the rest that i did see and I did not find worth.

Jonah Hill's performance was much like Joaquin Phoenix's in Gladiator...just made me feel dirty watching him. Which means he succeeded. Well done.

Not really. It was a decently pretty movie, but had half a plot and nothing resembling character development. Not to mention that it insults a viewer's intelligence with all of its inconsistencies and lies.

Pretty movie, but outside of being pretty it was crap. Avatar was much better film and I haven't met anyone who thinks that Avatar should have been anywhere near Best Picture.

I haven't seen Gravity (stupid kid), but I'd love for Cuaron to win. I'm sick of them handing the best director award to some friggin' substitute teacher. Look, I liked the King's Speech, too, but giving Hooper the Oscar over a crop of Coen, Aronofsky, Fincher, and Russell was borderline obscene.

This is how Scorcese went 30 years before finally winning the award. For the love of God, give the best director award to an actual great director if you can. You can argue that this sin't Cuaron's best work, but there's no way we look back in 50 years and wonder how he won an Oscar. We will do that for Michel Hazanavicius. Or how Ang Lee won twice in 10 years (and I like Lee).
