quote:Disc golf is VERY hard on shoes. All the usual suspects appear in the reviews. No shoe gets raves. Merrells are about as good as you will see, especially if they have Vibram soles. The twisting on concrete pads is murder on the rubber. My biggest complaint is, the shoe has the word waterproof right on them. Not even close to being water resistant. I think I got a defect. Hence, the NeverWet treatment.
. Merrell works for A LOT of people and they fit a lot of people. Merrell is good at what they do and I can't fault them for that. But their QC is outrageously bad. I wouldn't buy a pair without being able to give the exact pair I was going to buy a good look over, for example.

Vibram isn't any better than most rubber these days. Many companies are moving away from Vibram since they have to alter the last after design to fit a Vibram template. Merrell does tend to have a lot problems with their waterproof fabric letting water in. The other thing is that any waterproof shoe will be HOT and a lot of people are sweating into their shoe more than they realize. Most common problem I see with Merrell is severely mis-cut insoles that just don't fit the shoe at all.
