Watching now. Team Shakira.

Holy fricking shite, Shakira looks AMAZING at rehearsals.

Kristin is good. Solid throughout. And how tiny is she? She's like half the size of Carson and he's not huge.
Deja is weak.
Tess's low register is weak but she is good overall. And her sister is smokin'.
I like Adam but he needs to shut the frick up.
Patrick is good. Unique voice and Shakira loves that fasho.
Dani was good.

Should be Kristin, Patrick, and Dani/Tess IMO.
Sucks Patrick had to go. I liked his sound.

Team Adam.

Delvin is good. Not shining but is solid. Well the end was legit.
Jake sounds just okay for me, and I can't stand him for some reason.
Seems like Blake knows Jake will be cut.
Kat is decent. Not her best IMO.
Morgan sucked.
Christina sounds really good.

Should be Delvin and Christina for sure. And then either Kat or Jake. I'd go Kat I guess, because I don't like Jake.
Good call, Adam.

Tuesday. Team Ursh.

TJ sounds good.
Melissa (MJ? If you just made that up, Carson, then frick you) sounds good. A little breathy though. She looks good. Coaches didn't like it too much.
Stevie Jo sounds okay. Not his best as not a great song choice IMO.
Bria is so fricking good. She may be the favorite to win.
Hobbit Josh is really good.

Usher has the strongest five to choose from IMO. It's Bria and Josh easily, then Melissa/TJ. I'd go TJ maybe?
Good call, Ursh. He has the strongest team for the lives IMO.

The Live Shows Pt 1

Bria Kelly singing "Rolling in the Deep": My first critique is that she mentioned that this was going to be "her" version and not just karaoke. When I hear that I expect a real change-up with the song, but that's not what I heard here so I kind of started on a bad note (pun intended). Bria was all power, so she was in her element. There were a few moments that I had questions about, but they were very brief. While I really like Bria, I think more and more she is only a standout when the song requires lots of (or all) power. It's nice to hear someone rock the bleeding shite out of a song, but an artist needs more depth and I just don't think she has much beyond that right now. And I don't know how far that can take her.

Delvin Choice singing "Unchained Melody": I'm interested to hear this. I hope he doesn't shitty it up with too many runs.

Delvin doesn't have a girlfriend? :etradeshockedface:

Hrmmm... a little pitchy right out of the starting gate. He recovered quickly but then had another pitch moment, then when he started the lyric that went low... that sounded like crap. I think the most notable thing about his performance is that I *wanted* it to be great and it wasn't. He had some good moments that showed a shite-ton of potential with this song but that's all it was, sadly.

Dani Moz singing "Just Give Me A Reason": There should be lots of good power moments for her here. Good, full tone right from the beginning. Nice buildup, she had problem with the word "enough" the first time she hit it. A few pitchy moments afterward. I would have liked to hear her hold that high power note longer though. I think holding it for another few seconds would have been commercial-teaser material. It's strange Adam mentions that he wanted Dani's performance to be more dynamic but he didn't say it to Bria (who could DEFINITELY benefit from that).

Audra McLaughlin singing "Angel of the Morning": I absolutely LOVE when they bring up a notable song that no one has sung on the show yet. I'm expecting big things from this performance.

Her tone was good, but a little too quiet. I'm writing that one off as nerves. She has a look on her face that says either she is really into the song or there is some technical thing going on with her earpiece or something similar. She sounded a little offkey when she came out of the soft part of the song and went into the power-shouting. Some pitchy moments toward the end but the ending note was well done. She had some good moments in the song, much more so than Delvin.

TJ Wilkins singing "Waiting on the World to Change": The practice sounds good. I'm hoping this is the standout performance I have been waiting to hear from anyone tonight.

While this wasn't a standout performance, it was the most technically perfect performance thus far. Great tone, he seemed like he was on the very edge of the pocket at the beginning, but it never got away from him. If America votes on skill level, TJ should definitely move on based on what the other performers have one at this point.

Christina Grimmie singing "Dark Horse": This will be interesting as Katy Perry sings notoriously and deceptively difficult songs. When she hit the word "back" on "there's no going back", I got fricking chills because it was so damned good. She held the note, then when you thought it was over, she went higher, then when you thought it had to be over she went even HIGHER. I could hold my breath that long, much less expel with such perfect pitch. This was the great performance I was waiting for tonight. Even if she didn't have the 2 million Youtube followers that would carry her through regardless, she would still be moving on due to this performance. Adam hit it on the mark, it was VMA worthy.

Sisaundra Lewis singing "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me": This song is a GREAT choice for an artist in this sort of competition and I'm surprised we haven't heard it used more often. Shad a spot or two that was too "runny" before the big chorus part. In typical Sisaundra fashion though, she really brought it during the big moments. In all honesty though I think it fell short of my expectations. She should make it to the next round though.

I can't see that Gary Busey commercial enough. "Hello, pants"

Kristen Merlin singing "Stay": Her tone was absolutely perfect and stayed that way throughout the performance... until her mic died. What the frick!?! At least it came back on just in time for the last note. She kept going like a trooper, much respect for how cool-headedly she handled it. I hope she moves on to the next round because the performance that we heard was damned near perfect and because that mic issue was a raw deal.

Kat Perkins singing "Magic Man": I'm listening to her practice and thinking "how the hell did she make it to this point??" I've been on boats in storms that weren't so pitchy.

She started out of the pocket, got her timing back, then lost it a bit, then got it back and seemed to do that one and off throughout the song. She had a pitchy moment when she walked onto the stage. She had some good power moments but this performance can't make me help but think the coaches are more impressed with her energy and ease on the stage than her actual voice.

Jake Worthington singing "Anymore": Jake has one of the best male country voices to ever be on The Voice, but he had real problems finding the right pitch at the beginning of the song. I was really expecting an easy win for him this round, but the beginning was just turrible. He picked it up once the music accompaniment came in but I'm just not sure it was enough.

Tess Boyer singing "I'll Be There For You": Fan-damn-tastic job up until she took it an octave higher at the end. That part was okay, but it sounded a little flat. On paper this would have been a performance I would have panned the most out of all the artists/songs tonight, but she really did an impressive job. I hope she moves on.

Josh Kaufman singing "Stay With Me": Sounds really good in practice. Digging the stage effects. He has a really good voice when he sings, but he has a GREAT voice when he SINGS. He didn't really get into the song until near the end, but when he did it was very powerful. He was technically perfect. Once he learns to be more comfortable on the stage, the sky will be the limit for him.

My picks as to who is going home: Jake and... I'm torn between Delvin or Dani. My personal preference is that it be Jake & Kat because I think they had the two worst performances but (if the coaches are any indication) I think there is enough Kat-luv to carry her through this round.
