This isn't a real argument though. The Knicks took the Pacers to 7 games last year too. Lots of things can happen in 7 games. Teams can play over their heads. It doesn't work like you're suggesting.

The Pacers still have a major problem scoring when they need to. They have the 19th best offense in the NBA this year, which is an improvement of 0 compared to last year's rank. That means a lot more come the playoffs than your suggestion.

No reason that Hibbert and West shouldn't combine to average at least 40 against the Heat
