So the table is set now. Some known and some unknowns.
Knowns..Neither Marty nor rust nor Maggie have anything to do do with murders...The Tuttle foundation is seriously involved in at least covering up child molestation and likely interfering with an investigation...Tuttle wither committed suicide or was killed by rust..pretty clear rust broke into both of his houses in Shreveport and BR and likely found the pics and videos shown in the preview...The mysterious lawnmower man is likely involved. He may be the giant and definitely had scars and resembles the drawing of the spaghetti monster.
Unknowns...who is the yellow king?...exactly what is the LSP involvement in this mess?..what do the ritual killings have to do with the child abductions and reports made in error?..is Beth actually the missing girl Marie Fontenot? If so was her uncle Danny the one who abused her? Exactly what happened to marty's daughter(s)?

Does darkness become Rust? The people who we know or have reason to believe have been at the cult rituals all see it in him. The catatonic girl focuses on his face and recoils. He walks away. The LeDouxs both notice a dark shadows on him and dark stars rising in him. He has to be pulled off the witness who knows about the yellow king. Evil mom should kill herself, but Rust doesn't have the constitution to kill himself.
Maybe Rust is battling the darkness within. Like Laura Palmer's dad. The evil will come out - manifest itself in another form that those who are connected to the darkness can see. He has a cross on the wall to ward of the evil. He's trying to fight it.! Like the priest that gets impaled in The Omen. He needs Marty to kill him so that the internal struggle between good and evil in his nature will end. Revealing Marty's kids were involved would seal that fate is the big reveal is that Rust was involved.
Of course, time is a flat circle and it is Rust's fate to struggle again and again with the darkness within.
