Theres a guy on the Eastern Shore that does 5 big releases of birds a year. He has the sort of incubator/nursery set up that would bring Wickowick to tears. You're not allowed to walk around one side of it...something about wanting the birds to have never seen a human when they're released. Anyway, he releases an arse ton of birds, but they (typically) haven't seen humans. Most of the coveys didn't have more than maybe 5 flush, but they flushed well and, for only the 3rd time in my life, I didn't have to kick a single quail to get him to flush!

FWIW, there is a big difference between wild and hand raised quail. The wild ones fly like 20mph faster

That being said, quail hunting is my favorite bird hunting. I'm jelly
