I missed what happened... some details? Why would he throw it in the dugout?

Pass ball. Run scored. Instead of calling time and switching out the ball with the ump, catcher just throws it to the dugout and the coach picks it up. Another run comes home.

passed ball.. when the catcher went to retrieve it, the runner at 3rd came home.. play kind of stopped then the catcher rolled the ball towards the dugout and the coach picked it up.... no one had called time so the play was still live...bregman, having moved to 3rd, came home while the coach held the ball in his hand.
