CPM has said himself that teams are forced to play small ball in this era. Im sure he has been focusing on that and then began recruiting differently once the news came out about the new balls.
Either way he has been getting the best of the best at almost every position. Whether they have power or not is probably secondary to CPM.

You play small ball in tough games , against really good pitching . Small ball doesn't mean you do it in every game . You have to see what guys can do.

Meeeeehhhhhhhhh, I'm not so sure about that.
We weren't even top 25 according to Baseball America.
