I would really question the alleged 4.4 speed. I would assume closer to 4.6-4.7. The kids film is far from a burner.

Yea I am going to go ahead and assume that a guy that is 6 feet and 230 pounds with a legit 4.4 forty isn't going to be a fullback...

Yeah, and I have 3.2 speed. Crimminy! If this was true he could skip college and be the NFL MVP next year. That guy doesn't even have 4.6 speed. And I tell you what, after five more years of development, when he goes to the NFL combine, he still won't break 4.6. But next year, he'll be timed under 4.5 at every college camp he goes to (hint: they're tring to flatter him). Folks who never played ball don't realize how fast 4.6 is; that's blazing fast! When you get to 4.5 it's elite, and 4.4 is olympic god speed.

Pinrod or nimrod or whatever your name I have seen every game that the kid played last yr and the kid can run. He has been clocked at the college camps at 4.4 range. If he grows another few inches and gains 20 more pounds in the next yr plus and gets to 250 then your dream of 4.7 or 4 8 may come true but for now the kid is running in the mid 4's To me he looks like a ok second tier sec running back and not a full back but he is young. It's awesome that you know what a kid runs even though you have never seen him play ya prick

I don't know anything about DD but I do agree that running a 4.4 is always claimed and rarely confirmed. A legit 4.4 is cruising

re: David Ducre to LSU!!!!!!!! (Posted on 2/19/14 at 6:27 pm to omegaman66)
Ducre will compete again this spring in the 100 and 200 meters after qualifying for the Class 4A state meet and finishing seventh in the 100 a year ago.

Ducre, who has a personal best of 10.6 in the 100 and 22.4 in the 200, was third behind Fournette and Speedy Noil of Karr in last year's 100-meter regional. He will also anchor the Titans 400 and 800-meter relay teams.

A 10.6 in the 100m converts to roughly a 4.54 in the 40. LINK

At his size, 4.5 is blazing.

This is believable, but also if it wasn't laser timed then you would expect the time to be a little more from there. I don't know if it was or wasn't.

Either way that's pretty elite speed for that size. It almost seems like a waste to leave him at fb.

Based on what we have seen so far with Cameron, he wants to get the FB involved in the passing and running game.

I think Ducre has a chance to be a very productive FB in our system, not just a battering ram.

double posted an insult

PP7 was that fast, 220 lbs, and was all-world. But this 230 lb HS Player is, and we're going to put him at FB.

Oh my goodness. Thanks for the update on the speed. People here that aren't track people probably don't realize just how fast 10.6 is in the hundred even when not electronicially timed. Dude isn't going to win the state championships in the 100m but that kind of time for a fullback (heck even a RB) is pretty damn fast!

If you aren't then it can only mean two things.
1. You don't realize what this commit means.
2. You are worried that it might not stick.

You just don't get fullback with that kind of speed very often if ever.

Yeah wow people do not realize how fast 10.6 is in the 100. If that does translate to a mid to low 4.5 forty then his claim of being hand timed in the 4.4s may not be a lie since hand timed 40s are usually on the quick side. He should be a very versatile fullback that isn't just another o-lineman out there.

This guy is pretty fast. Not quick though. He has spencer ware speed. If the only people you are losing to in a foot race is Leonard Fournette and speedy Noil then you ain't a chump when it comes to speed. And at 230 lbs. I'm very surprised he isn't listed as an athlete on recruiting sites. He would definitely be in the top 5 athletes if that 40time held true even if it was actually a high 4.5. That is great speed for a FB

David ran a 10.61 in the 100 meter, and a 22.38 in the 200 meter last night in the Northshore Invitational.

These times are no fabrication.

I think they want him there because they're going to be changing from the way we've used the fullback in the past and they want a premiere athlete there.

My thought is that we'll see a preview of it with Melvin Jones this season.
