The way he is talking right now is that he wants quality not "quantity" of life. I'm not sure that I blame him but it just sucks.

His quality of life was perfect, except for the last year and a half.

That's a big part of it. Chemo and Radiation, plus many other pharmaceuticals, all have bad side effects. Some people are lucky. Others have to deal with cancer by itself, then the side effects from the treatment, which can be worse at times. They took a huge toll on my Dad's quality of life. Though everybody is different. I've also read of a older man that went in to remission from stage 4 pancreatic cancer after he started drinking a tea made from baking soda and blackstrap molasses. Others lucky ones have had success doing the same.
