That's it exactly. It's not even really a "retelling." It's based on the Noah story but has a lot of Aronofsky's own interpretations and character in it. For instance, Noah is a bit of a drunk and has a ton of doubts.

actually, the biblical noah planted a vineyard, and was most definitely a drinking man i thought this was an unusual choice for aronofsky, but i always find his films to be very beautiful, and am looking forward to this one as well.
