re: matthew mcconaughey - transformation to a great actor?

I watched an interview with him on CBS Sunday Morning. He basically said he was being paid boat loads of money to be the lead in rom-coms but wasn't really happy with it. He said he sat down with his wife and decided that they had enough money for him to be able to try and transition into serious acting. He said it took a few years of saying no to rom-coms and living off savings but people started to come around to the idea and now he's really taking off
