The study was completely destroyed by the author's peers. Just because it was submitted to a respectable scientific journal for peer review does not make it respectable science.

The study was not destroyed. Due to the nature of this debate, the other side threw stones at his study ( a univ of Texas professor, always a hotbed of conservatism). Likewise, religious conservatives dispute studies showing gay parents to have little to no impact on children's outcomes.

This was another study from an lsu prof that took issue with sample sizes and research statistics of 59 studies that suggested gay parenting outcomes offered little variation to conventional parenting. LINK
