Doesn't surprise me.
The 3 biggest tech/consumer companies in the world (Amazon, MS, and Google) all equally know how important it is to offer a full service tech solution to people going forward.
People that say MS should drop Bing, Windows phones, and the Surface tablets forget that even though they lose money on those things right now it is a necessity to get to where they want to be and that is you using Windows for your whole life. I'm not saying it will happen because Windows 8 set them back some initially and they have an uphill battle against Android but that is what their intentions are. It's why Windows 8 is mobile ready so you're used to the interface across all your hardware and so that it's easier to adapt programs across all platforms as well.
