It's the same as trying to lift with foam under your feet. Try deadlifting with 1" foam under your bare feet. You can't plant your feet firmly and you lose a ton of torque.

You are wrong. Lifting with an elevated heal is in no way a detriment and depending on your flexibility may be necessary. All elite level Olympic lifters as well as elite squat lifters wear Olympic lifting shoes with an elevated heal.

Lifting with running shoes or something with a cushion heal is fricking terrible. Lifting with a solid heal like lifting shoes is beneficial
