Seems like this could have all been avoided if the cop would have taken a different approach.

How about knocking on the door? Maybe making a phone call? Meeting him at his work place?

Follow him to the grocery store & stop him as he is putting his bags in his car, as he checks his mailbox , as he clocks in at work, as he leaves McDonald's etc...There are MANY far more subtle/peaceful ways to pick up a suspect.

Cops have boasted about the adrenaline rush they get when serving these warrants as if though they are speaking about fricking snowboarding.
