Know a fairly militant woman lawyer - one day her secretary told me they were having elevator problems in the building. She was mad as hell over the problem.

I called her pretending to be the service rep of Otis Elevator. Changed my voice, and called her "little girl" and "little lady" and finally, when she was really steamed, asked if her husband could come to the phone or if "I could speak to the man in charge."

After I told her what was going on, she didn't forgive me for a month.
