I like RP gear oil. It holds up pretty damn well. Don't use the regular oil though. I was using Amsoil in my last gas truck, but switched to Rotella T for my diesel.

I use Castrol high mileage stuff on this Tahoe with 150k. The high mileage stuff has some seal conditioning agents in it that keep the engine tighter. Don't know if it works because I am not an oil engineer.

I do run Lucas HD every other change during the winter though. It keeps it from semi-knocking when I start it up cold. shite is as thick as cold honey
