I would not recommend a small .380 or 9mm for any first time shooter much less a woman. Get her a full size 9mm. Such as an XD, Glock or M&P. Maybe even get her a .22 pistol first and let her get used to shooting that first. The LCP you are thinking about getting her has a tremendous amount of recoil, and she will never shoot it. Just my 2 cents

The one I'm thinking about is the LC380. Not the LCP. It's a little bigger, twice the weight.

I'll let her practice a little with a full sized 9mm, pawpaw has a couple. I'll let her try his LC9 down the road, may end up bumping up to a 9 if she likes it. I will also try the .22 first.

I'm working nights tonight so if I don't respond quickly, my apologies. I really appreciate the input. I personally don't have too much knowledge in smaller caliber handguns.
