Funny question.

Smart people...who watched the NFC champ game..and the NFC all year...felt the best teams in the league by far were the Hawks, Niners and Saints.

AFC was weak and Denver had a poor schedule.

LSU vs. Bama...public actually did believe those teams were somewhat even. And they looked it.

Seattle and the Niners in the NFC champ game look far more physical - like a different brand of football compared to Denver.

But I'm less surprised by the LSU loss. Human nature and having to beat a team twice. LSU having to repeat - to win the title - was unfair and wrong. They laid an egg...having to prove what they already proved once...

How bama revels in that supposed title is beyond me.

Denver was far worse. It's the SB - not a made up popularity contest. Late season victory in Tuscaloosa wasn't a preseason game...like Manning had against the Hawks. No real double-jeopardy.

No one seems to want to talk about this.

At least the two best teams in football were in the NFC. And probably the top three.
