As someone who has smoked for long periods in my life (up to 12 btw) and drank for even longer, here is my take. Been clean for 6 years btw.

First off, in the hands of the wrong people ie: irresponsible, underachieving, immature etc. they are both equally dangerous. I'm not going to go on and on why, in some respects weed is worse.

However, in the hands of responsible adults, I feel alcohol is more dangerous.

I'm not really going to explain myself, ain't typing that much. One can be a bigger gateway drug (both are), one has overdose potential. One may have a young man not leave his bedroom for a week, the other could kill a car full of children.

One could make spatial thinking better and IMO help with grades, while in different hands will make the user totally not give a frick about anything, and fail fail fail.

However, legalizing it would take some of the rebellious edge away from the IRRESPONSIBLE types and have it controlled.

We all know about alcohol. Furthermore, if someone is going to do it, they will. Time to stop arresting people for such stupid shite. If we can smoke cigarettes, weed is a no brainier.
