It is way up there in creepiness/spookiness. A genuine horror movie set in space.

if you want to have your mind blown, Sunshine is at 75%
not only does Sunshine rip off a lot of themes, shots, etc from Event Horizon, but it completely falls apart at the end
the biggest variable that leads to the difference, imho, is that paul ws anderson directed EH while danny boyle directed sunshine. perception taints/reflects a lot with movie reviews by major critics
