When I was in high school, granted it was 10 years ago, I received a "waiver of tuition" rather than a scholarship. But this was the MPSA and not LHSAA.

ETA: not tooting my own horn, I wasn't overly gifted as an athlete, but this school was very small and needed players

MPSA (MAIS now) doesn't give a frick. Same thing occurred with me.

However, when I was in the lhsaa several of us were given an informal free meal plan. No paperwork, no money received, but the lunch staff knew to just let us keep walking past the checkout line with our food
