I call BS. The club doesn't have to be a massive 7 story club like some are over here. I'm proposing essentially replacing/relocating the shotty nightlife square footage found in the Tigerland and putting in in Northgate where it should be.

I believe there is a significant demographic of students (New Orleans, OOS) that would love to have a non gay nightclub in Northgate. Stop it with the Office and City Bar stuff. They are nicer but even further than Tigerland and are 21+.

dude every few years they try to make a "club" and it fails...quickly

i remember rasputins!

to support this club you need young professionals to wnat to go there, which is tough in BR. also you have to get girls to see it as THE place. the sorrority-infused, private school BR population isn't really that sort of population

i've watched this battle get fought many times before

I agree that it would be nice to have a nightclub that students can frequent..but people in the USA, and especially the south, just don't like nightclubs the way people in Europe do. Even in a large city like Houston (4th largest in the country) there are only a few nightclubs, and they aren't anywhere near the European ones. People like bars here. Bars with really loud music. The lsu private school, sorority/fraternity kids are going to go to places like Bogies..it's pretty lame but true.

I really agree with you on letting Tigerland die. That's a true shithole of a bar scene and an embarrassing place when compared to the nightlife at other schools. The Northgate needs to be revitalized..it just makes sense since it's right off campus, and has more of an urban feel vs. the farm land of the south side of campus. One problem, though, is the proximity to the hood down highland.

They try clubs every so often and after 2 months of out the door lines, it fails. Less than 6 months, its closed.

In my day, it was Poets and that was when techno and rap became mainstream so there was a large demand for that type of shite.
