BR supported triple a for years. The office and city bar (upstairs) seem to be doing just fine.

They definitely draw from all over the region. It's like a bat signal for all the douchebags in Zachary, Lafayette, and Denham Springs to come flock together.

Geed.

And college bars are college bars. It's the same thing everywhere. Loud music, crowded, long bar lines. That's what a college bar is.

Go downtown or Perkins or something of you want different.

Oh and night clubs suck. Unless you're on Molly

LSU needs a Fern Bar.
Fern Bars can make or break the morale of a student body.
Very important.

Bring back The Varsity Retro Night circa 99-02, including the Indian Michael Jackson that roamed BR for those years.

The nightclubs here and in many other European countries are quite nice and well maintained. So, that shouldn't be a problem unless the owner puts down thick carpets, gives out gum to everyone, doesn't install a bathroom, and doesn't hire a cleaning staff.

Yes, the women here are more insane than clubs themselves. They are the work of the Divine Potter here. Absolutely gorgeous.

This.

Athens bar scene is a shitton better than LSU. LSU should try to model their scene after that or after the strip in Knoxville.

I am sure LSU would like a "club" type place but would it be feasible for a college student to actually afford the cover charges and drink costs to support this type of business. When I was at LSU, I just wanted to find the cheapest place to drink that had the most amount of tail to run.

Athens is a lot more progressive, and i'd imagine has a lot more of an urban representation in its population

The whole Chimes St.-Highland Rd.-State St. area is such a missed opportunity. What they've done around there is sort of an improvement, but it's sad how they still went more suburban strip mallish with what they did.

i don't know the geography of athens, but it's hard to have any sort of development due to what lurks north

it's the typical "we can't have nice things" issue. that's why that area is a shite hole

There is a huge safe neighborhood of upstanding, tax paying citizens just north of this area that's really holding it back from becoming what it could be.
