Went very well. 0 distractions. Will be doing this 100% come March/2014. I thought I would get bored too easy, but this went quite well.

Its easy for a day, or even a couple of weeks, but you won't be even close to as productive as you would be at an office long term.

I tried it for a couple weeks bc my office was 80 miles away. I couldn't take it. I'd rather drive the 1.15 hr. Plus it gives me a reason to get out the house early and arrive back whenever I want. There's nothing like being your own boss.

Not true for everyone. I work from home every day and probably get more done because I used to be in an open air office where the rest of my co-workers could distract me.

OP: just get a routine. I don't have a separate office (although I will wherever we move next), but I don't sit at my desk unless I am working. I don't work on the couch. I don't do laundry while I work or anything else that I couldn't do at the office.

This is just not true. I used to waste so much time in the office chatting with people, getting coffee for 20 minutes, etc. Working from home regularly, you just get into a good work mode.

You need a dedicated "office" at home for sure. And our company uses all video phones, so we still have that face to face interaction with coworkers. My coworkers are in Virginia, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Califonia. I get to "see" them everyday.
