I got passed over for a promotion last month at work becuase I stood up to a manager in a different department who was a bully in October, despite the fact that I am the most productive member out of the 78 employees in my department and do 3 days worth of work for a normal employee in 1 day, and always do things the right way.
Instead they promoted people who are habitually late, slack off, cheat our system, take 30 minute breaks, and more.
Moral of the story: Don't mess with people above you in the corporate world
I should start a political movement

I had something similar. I was looked over because I stood for what was right for the client I was working. I looked for a job elsewhere and was offered (didn't really want to leave). I went to my employer and told them about what I was doing. They matched the money I wanted (10,000) so I stayed. Now I don't want the promotion. Less responsibility with the money I feel is fair.

Insubordination and a loose cannon. And you make the high ups look bad..."pull the cloak off their sin".
Moral of the story: People aren't fair. I've had a ton or original art work...just 'disappear'. Lost a couple of big ones this week. But partly my fault...I suck at keeping paper.
Stay on the straight and narrow, GN. It'll pay off big in the long run. Clear conscience is pure gold!
