You should try limestone. Buy enough limestone rocks to line the bottom of your cooler, freeze the rocks before a trip. Use limestone as a bottom liner, scientists say the rocks' density per capita volume of matter and oxygen allow the rocks to maintain super cool temperatures much more so than ice alone.
